Governor Perry-thank you for listening to "we the people" and supporting the tea parties, your support for HCR 50 and for standing up to Washington.

To be honest, I had lost quite a bit of faith in politics and politicians after what happened in Nov. 2008 elections and even more so after watching Washington's knee jerk reaction to the housing crisis and tightening of credit markets. Where did those TARP funds go anyways? What happened to the oversight?

I don't even consider myself a republican any longer-after watching so many support TARP, the porkulus bill and omnibus bill with 9,000 earmarks all of which will create deficits that will burden our country for years to come. The housing crisis and credit market problems will appear trivial compared to the damage this will do to the country going forward.

On your comments relative to secession-I would have never thought I would support those views (especially since I was born a Yankee!) but after these past few years I would rather live under a free Republic of Texas than an oppressive US federal government. If the democrats in the state legislature think those comments are un-american, than they need to read the constitution.

I love the spirit of the people of Texas and am glad to call this state my home. God bless Texas and god bless you Rick Perry!

I was at the party in Fort Worth. I'm so proud to be a Texan and to have leadership that is willing to stand up the joke we call the US Government. Thank you! Don't let liberal media get you down either. They're worse than the Washington bureaucrats!
